You do realize that neither education nor health care fall under the federal jurisdiction, and May 2nd will be a federal election, right?

Thanks for your comment. May 2nd is a federal election. However, it is my understanding that while the provincial government has the majority of legislative power where healthcare is concerned, constitutionally they still have an important role in health care policy. As for education, yes provinces have jurisdication but this does not mean federal government departments don't have an impact through their services and programming and that the federal government intself can't impact education through other means. Both health and education issues (especially Post-secondary, apprenticeship, training programs) show up in federal party platforms.

In a rush, just to clarify my previous comment - constitutionally, the federal government, still has an important role in health care policy.

Federal government also oversees the Canadian student loan program...a very significant issue for Canadians in post-secondary right now.
